    What are we looking for?

    The Plant Manager position is responsible for leading site operations to ensure the required business objectives are met in a safe and environmentally compliant manner. The position provides vision, leadership, and day-to-day guidance for a production facility serving a multitude of markets. The successful candidate must have proven ability to lead a team, understand/manage a P&L, drive continuous improvement, develop a long-term vision for the site and support industry leading/high performance work practices. This position reports to the Director of Operations – Laminates and Films. 

    Your tasks and responsibilities...

    • Provide leadership and direction for operations to meet demand for internal and external customers in the areas of Manufacturing and Delivery, Customer service, Quality, SHE&S, and Maintenance. 
    • Responsible for managing site operational performance to deliver on key objectives in safety, environmental, production, quality, customer satisfaction and budget development & control.
    • Foster a high performance work culture that is capable of moving quickly, responding to changing environments and driving continuous improvement.
    • Develop facility specific short term and strategic annual operating strategies that align with overall business objectives; identifying challenges, developing goals and objectives, creating priorities and deploying action plans. This includes identifying capital and equipment needs as well as Capacity planning and utilization
    • Develop strong working relationships with all cross-functional departments including research & development, marketing/sales, SHE&S, SOIP, human resources, and finance to ensure support of critical business strategies and goals.
    • Effectively integrate product development, commercial and customer service goals and activities with manufacturing to ensure on time, quality product to the customer.
    • Monitor production and labor levels to ensure continued efficiency while anticipating problems and developing contingencies to address deficiencies and plan deviations to ensure plant goals are accomplished.
    • Support lean projects and continuously identify ways to reduce plant operating costs, increase quality and drive strong safety culture and performance through the incorporation of operational excellence strategies.

    Who you are...

    • Bacheloor's degree in Engineering or Business Management 
    • 7-10 years of experience Leading and managing an industrial plant environment overseeing multiple production functions simultaneously
    • Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills including the ability to motivate people, assess, select and develop employee skills, and drive organizational culture change.
    • Demonstrated interpersonal savvy, persuasion and negotiation skills to effectively interact with all levels of employees in a matrixed reporting environment, internal and external customers, vendors and general public.
    • Previous P&L experience with income statements, balance sheet and cash flow. Demonstrated understanding of P&L drivers.
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
    • Demonstrated understanding and advocacy of safety and quality systems, practices and requirements for a safe, efficient and effective work environment.
    • Knowledge and understanding of project and change management principles in planning, organizing and managing resources to bring about successful completion and adoption of project goals and objectives.
    • Knowledge of lean technology and processes to enhance process flows and develop operating and tactical plans to improve efficiency, product quality and manage cost. Previous experience leading and implementing continuous improvement and use of lean tools
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions to expand margins and profitability.
    • Strategic thinker: Able to understand the “big picture” and demonstrated ability to identify indicators of system performance, monitor performance and develop actions to improve or correct performance relative to goals.
    • Ability to travel 10% 

    Preferred Qualifications:  

    • Demonstrated track record of leading a high growth manufacturing operation including technology implementation, capacity addition/improvement, Customer Satisfaction assurance.

    • Knowledge of rolled goods, printing and/or continue process manufacturing.
    • Knowledge of supply chain management including storage of raw materials, work in process inventory and finished goods from point of origin to point of consumption.
    • APICS Certification in production and inventory management (CPIM or CFPIM) or supply chain professional (CSCP)
