    What are we looking for?

    This position is responsible for the coordination of the design and construction of equipment, machinery, buildings and other assets at the Auburn manufacturing facility. The position will provide leadership for all Process Engineering, Quality Assurance,  and ISO activities at the facility. This position will manage engineering projects, new product/process development, plant upgrades, and capital project planning and management. This person will be an integral part of the Plant Leadership Team.

    Your tasks and responsibilities...

    • Provides for the performance alignment of all Plant processes and methods to meet organizational requirements for safety, quality, delivery, and cost management.
    • Enhances and aligns Plant process capabilities within six sigma performance levels to consistently deliver products and services at or above Customer expectations.
    • Provides for the implementation of, certification to, management, and optimization of ISO 9001:2015 at the Auburn manufacturing facility.
    • Develops short and long-term strategies for the implementation of capital projects in the Auburn facility. Provides for annual and 5 year plans that align the plant with organizational objectives. Provides for and manages all activity that assures that the organization meets ROI objectives for each project.
    • Continually improves the velocity of all Auburn plant operations. Continually defines / re-defines constraint operations, effects improvements and changes that reduce constraint cycle times, facilitates the alteration of plant standards, drives planning to reduce inventory dependency for quick ship orders. Continually drives down production order to ship lead times.
    • Improves the capacity and flexibility of Auburn Plant Operations. Implements projects that allow the interchangeability of all equipment across every work center to increase machine utilization. Reduce the cost of plant labor. Minimize the impact of scheduling on plant throughput, productivity, and profitability.
    • Improves plant processes to reduce / eliminate set up waste / processing waste to improve plant yields associated with plant operations. Continually facilitates the completion of project that increase plant material yields.
    • Leads the Management of Change process for the Auburn facility.
    • Manages the Engineering Staff development.

    Who you are...

    • Bachelors in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
    • 7-10 years of experience in continuous manufacturing operations, process line equipment, facilities and utilities management, plastics processing/ rolled products (preferred)
    • Ability to confidently drive Safety Culture transformation and then sustain by engaging all levels of the organization
    • Ability to analyze large amounts of data in to actionable plans and projects
    • Engineering project management, design, construction experience. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Technical problem solving skills- ability to show effective problem identification and Causal Effect Skills
    • Lead or participate in incident investigations to identify system failures and appropriate corrective actions
    • Clearly and succinctly communicates in a variety of settings (verbal, written, and presentation/training). Ability to articulate highly technical circumstances in clear understandable terms to people at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to collaborate within a cross-functional organization and leverage resources, business acumen.
    • Plastics processing experience / Extruded and rolled goods preferred.
    • Must be knowledgeable in the following areas: Construction codes, OSHA, , Environmental permit regulations. Building, National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA), interpreting regulations
    • Microsoft office computer applications, technical/program writing, training and presentations skills, project management, 
    • Ability to create and drive OMNOVA's core values and maintain positive employee relations
    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt experience at minimum.
    • Focused on continuous improvement of operating expenses. 

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Six Sigma Black belt certification preferred. Must attain within 18 months of hire.
    • Experience in chemical, printing, or continuous mechanical process industry.
    • Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies; strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Experience with web handling/web conversion equipment.
    • Knowledge of SAP Maintenance and Purchasing procedures
