    What are we looking for?

    The Global Director of Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs provides leadership, direction and management in the implementation of regulatory policies, procedures and strategies to ensure global chemical and product regulatory compliance. This position will have the responsibility to build a team, develop programs and guide execution of activities globally. The position also supports the business and functional teams to ensure integration of product compliance and risk management controls during all phases of product development and commercialization. This role is also responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the associated business processes. This position reports to the Vice President of Safety, Health, Environment and Security.

    Your tasks and responsibilities...

    • Lead and align global team, structure and processes to drive functional excellence and effectively position product regulatory an enabler for the company.
    • Develop and refine product safety/regulatory roadmap and organizational structure to align with company strategy.
    • Implement communication processes and metrics to ensure visibility and transparency of team activities.
    • Ensure the implementation of programs across our business through strong working relationships with leaders in technology, regulatory, manufacturing, commercial, and other functional areas.
    • Integrate group with business teams to ensure that current and future regulatory compliance requirements are understood in new program and innovation activities, while also maintaining regulatory compliance for marketed products and geographic expansion. Ensure that business understands, secures, and maintains necessary authorizations under global chemical control regulations.
    • Ensure robust systems are in place and maintained for SDSs, labels, licenses, registrations, training, chemical inventory and product registration database, material information, etc.
    • Foster team relationships with external groups to stay abreast of best practices and drive excellence in OMNOVA’s programs. Monitor and manage emerging issues related to product safety and chemical regulation.
    • Provide oversight to ACC Responsible Care product safety code application within OMNOVA. Ensure compliance and build understanding across the organization.
    • Provide direction and assistance to sites and businesses in the development, implementation and integration of processes, procedures, and tools needed to ensure product regulatory compliance and product risk management.
    • Identify opportunities, implement programs and manage initiatives to ensure product compliance with local and international SHE&S regulations.

    Who you are...

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, or related technical field
    • 10-15 years of experience of product compliance in chemical or relate industry. Minimum of 3 years with global management responsibilities.
    • Experience working with chemical regulations and regulatory agencies
    • Global team leadership and talent development
    • Track record of creating strong relationships with internal and external partners and key customers to develop and execute product stewardship activities
    • Excellent communication and people skills, ability to work cross-functionally
    • Working knowledge of global agency regulations and standards such as GHS, FDA, REACH, Prop 65, TSCA, FHSA, CEPA, DSL, NSF, CPSC, CPLA, CCPSA, etc.
    • Experience and working knowledge with Lean Six Sigma systems a plus

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced degree
    • ISO and/or Responsible Care Management System experience
    • Toxicology background

    Working Requirements

    • Periodic international travel will be required
