    What are we looking for?

    The Global Director of Product Stewardship provides leadership, direction and management in the implementation of regulatory policies, procedures and strategies to ensure global chemical and product regulatory compliance. This position will have the responsibility to build a team, develop programs and guide execution of activities globally. This position will develop and lead the implementation of programs that ensure the responsible and ethical management of our products throughout their lifecycle. The Global Director of Product Stewardship supports the business and functional teams to integrate product compliance and risk management controls during all phases of product development and commercialization. This role is also responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of product stewardship business processes. This position reports to the Vice President of Safety, Health, Environment and Security.

    Your tasks and responsibilities...

    • Develop and refine product stewardship roadmap and organizational structure.
    • Ensure the implementation of stewardship programs across our business through strong working relationships with leaders in technology, regulatory, manufacturing, commercial, and other functional areas.
    • Integrate with business teams to ensure that current and future regulatory compliance requirements are understood in new program and innovation activities, while also maintaining regulatory compliance for marketed products and geographic expansion. Ensure that business understands, secures, and maintains necessary authorizations under global chemical control regulations.
    • Implement communication processes and metrics to ensure visibility and transparency of team activities.
    • Implement and leverage Product Stewardship Advisory Council to develop enhanced long-term strategies.
    • Foster relationships with external groups to stay abreast of best practices in the product stewardship area and drive excellence in OMNOVA’s stewardship programs. Monitor and manage emerging issues in the areas of Product Stewardship and chemical regulation.
    • Manage the global product compliance team to ensure support of compliant supply chain processes (product labels, safety data sheets, data supporting marketing claims, product formulation changes, supplier approvals, etc.)
    • Develop and maintain an annual product stewardship plan.
    • Maintain and improve product stewardship systems for SDSs, labels, licenses, registrations, training, chemical inventory and product registration database, etc.
    • Provide oversight to ACC Responsible Care product safety code application within OMNOVA. Ensure compliance and communicate status across the organization.
    • Provide direction and assistance to sites and businesses in the development, implementation and integration of processes, procedures, and tools needed to ensure product regulatory compliance and product risk management.
    • Identify opportunities, implement programs and manage initiatives geared toward product stewardship to ensure product compliance with local and international SHE&S regulations.



    Who you are...

    • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, or related technical field
    • 10-15 years of experience in product compliance in chemical or related industry
    • Minimum of 3 years with global management responsibilities
    • Experience working with chemical regulations and regulatory agencies
    • Track record of creating strong relationships with internal and external partners and key customers to develop and execute product stewardship activities
    • Excellent communication and people skills, ability to work cross-functionally and to lead teams
    • Working knowledge of global agency regulations and standards such as GHS, FDA, REACH, Prop 65, TSCA, FHSA, CEPA, DSL, NSF, CPSC, CPLA, CCPSA, etc.
    • Experience and working knowledge with Lean Six Sigma systems a plus
