    What are we looking for?

    This position will be responsible for supervising and directing employees in the safe and efficient production of quality product in a cost effective manner that meets customer expectations. Specifically this position will be responsible for all production and maintenance activities on shift to ensure that optimum performance levels are achieved in the areas of productivity, quality, housekeeping, and safety in accordance with management guidelines while creating and developing a team environment.

    Your tasks and responsibilities...

    • Provide leadership and direction to production and maintenance personnel. Develop team goals and objectives.
    • Understand, demonstrate, and hold others accountable to OMNOVA Core Values, policies, and procedures
    • Know and follow all policies and procedures and hold team accountable to them.
    • Know the Contractual Bargaining Agreement language and work within the language
    • Respond to grievances according to the grievance process
    • Act as main safety contact for shift addressing issues immediately as they arise to keep team safe.
    • Document, respond to, and provide details all Safety issues. Respond to alarms and notifications of hazards to provide a safe work
    • Manage daily production schedule, optimize productivity, address daily bottlenecks, and rectify daily quality and processing problems.
    • Review production data in SAP system and make necessary changes.
    • Assure accurate productivity. Collect/record quality check data on every shift.
    • Establish key measures and realistic objectives for the Team.
    • Hold regular safety and team meetings and hold employees accountable to completing defined responsibilities.
    • Train employees using the Jobs skills training and verification process to assure proper and consistent training of the workforce.
    • Communicate critical information to shift personnel.
    • Coordinate shift maintenance duties.
    • Coach, council, motivate and discipline employees as necessary.
    • Ensure product meets all quality standards and customer commitments timelines.
    • Administrative duties include but are not limited to:
      • Validating timecard, overtime information, and vacation requests as per CBA guidelines
      • Generate paperwork and documents for trucks
      • SAP transactions
      • Focused Refresher training

    Who you are...

    • Minimum education required is an Associates Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration or related field
    • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing management in a union environment
    • Exceptional demonstrated leadership skills required
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Must be able to demonstrate strong problem solving skills
    • Must be able to be flexible and lead others through change
    • Works well independently and in team environment
    • Strong PC skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP)
    • Ability to motivate and coach employees
    • Ability to hold employees accountable
    • Willing to work off shifts and provide weekend coverage.
    • Overtime is mandatory if shift is scheduled on weekends or coverage is needed for sick time or vacation of other coordinators
    • Full Time, overtime is mandatory if shift is scheduled on weekends or if coverage is need for other coordinators. Must be able to come in on the off shifts as needed

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Lean Six Sigma Experience
    • Experience and/or training in Change Management
