    What are we looking for?

    This position is responsible for the coordination of design, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other assets at the Monroe manufacturing facility. The position will provide leadership for the Maintenance Technicians as well as Process Engineering. Responsibility will include implementation of effective preventative and predictive maintenance principals that will increase the equipment uptime and reliability. Normal daily plant maintenance, troubleshooting and repair will be expected. This position will manage engineering projects, new product/process development, plant upgrades and repairs, and capital project planning and management. This person will be an integral part of the Plant Leadership Team and plant safety.

    Your tasks and responsibilities...

      • Promote a supportive environment focused on safety, quality of work and departmental efficiency.
      • Manage the maintenance department’s daily work flow in support of operations and projects
      • Provides technical support to all engineering and maintenance activities within the plant. Includes prioritizing of maintenance requests and performance of root cause analysis for failure modes
      • Implement programs that fully utilize the capability of the SAP Maintenance module including predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
      • Provide technical support to the plant in the areas of new process development and improvements in productivity (equipment uptime), capacity, capability and reliability.
      • Lead portions of the plant Process Safety Management OSHA 1910.119 programs including Management of Change, Mechanical Integrity, Contractor Management, Plant equipment specifications, etc.
      • Manage outside contractor programs including electrical, mechanical, structural, and technical.
      • Manage the engineering and maintenance technical staff development.
      • Manage all Maintenance expenses, capital programs and utilities.
      • Manage all maintenance shutdown activities to maximize productivity and ensure work is completed on time
      • Develop, implement, and monitor key performance metrics related to costs, schedule, uptime, compliance
      • Identify/implement projects and actions to drive performance improvements.
      • Monitor equipment trends to ensure best possible operation and reduction of planned/unplanned downtime.



    Who you are...

    • Bachelors in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering
    • Ability to confidently drive Safety Culture transformation and then sustain by engaging all levels of the organization
    • Ability to analyze large amounts of data in to actionable plans and projects
    • Engineering project management, design, construction experience. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Technical problem solving skills- ability to show effective problem identification and Causal Effect Skills
    • Lead or participate in incident investigations to identify system failures and appropriate corrective actions
    • Clearly and succinctly communicates in a variety of settings (verbal, written, and presentation/training)
    • Ability to collaborate within a cross-functional organization and leverage resources, business acumen
    • Must be knowledgeable in the following areas: Construction codes, OSHA, , Environmental permit regulations. Building, National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA), interpreting regulations
    • Microsoft office computer applications, technical/program writing, training and presentations skills, project management, Knowledge of SAP Maintenance and Purchasing procedures
    • Ability to create and drive OMNOVA's core values and maintain positive employee relations
    • Lean Six Sigma experience focused on continuous improvement of operating expenses.


    Preferred Qualifications


      • Experience in chemical, printing, or continuous mechanical process industry.
      • Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies; strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
      • Experience with web handling/web conversion equipment
