    What are we looking for?

    The Territory Manager will operate within a defined geographical territory to execute sales strategy to support and profitably grow business with existing and new customers. Will have responsibility for working with a cross-functional team driving customer projects from identification through closure.  Will sell a broad range of specialty chemicals with a focus on OMNOVA’s Construction and Nonwovens Markets (adhesives, modifiers and additives).

    Your tasks and responsibilities...

    • Represents OMNOVA Solutions products to customer accounts as the single point of contact in the designated territory, coordinating internally with Customer Care, Accounts Receivable, Product Management, Applications, and Supply Chain to ensure organization is fully aligned to support account objectives
    • Supports all existing customer accounts, protecting existing business; develops leads for the development of new profitable growth – both in existing and new customers; balances customer retention and new business growth
    • Aligns territory strategy and AOP to overall strategic plan for the business; effectively executes pricing and margin management strategies assigned
    • Responsible for accurate Sales Forecasting and customer data
    • Accountable for defining appropriate level of customer technical service support, and for execution of new sales opportunities and Technical Service projects
    • Responsible for Sales and Commercial best practices, including; call reports, forecasting reviews and updates, opportunity pipeline reviews, voice of the customer, competitive market intelligence, etc.

     

    Who you are...

    • Bachelors in business or technical discipline, preferably in one of the sciences
    • 3-5 years of experience in Technical/Applications or Sales experience with solutions-based sales of industrial products such as chemicals, plastics, rubber
    • Demonstrated negotiation skills
    • Demonstrated effective Project Management skills
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively identify opportunities for customer growth
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain deep, multi-level customer relationships
    • Demonstrated business acumen
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-functionally
    • Demonstrated ability to identify innovative ways to address challenge

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated strong track record of sales success in Chemical or Specialty Chemical industry
    • Demonstrated Personal Effectiveness skills
    • Demonstrated success developing profitable new business (both in new and existing accounts)
    • Skilled in Value-Added selling
    • Demonstrated technical aptitude
    • Strong interpersonal communications (written and oral), organizational and time management skills; including multi-tasking and prioritizing
