    What are we looking for?

    This position is responsible for assisting with the consolidated financial reporting of a $1B international corporation with an emphasis on U.S. GAAP reporting, the Annual Report, 10-Q, 10-K and 5500 filings. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a team environment, give directions and follow-up on actions. This person will provide leadership over the financial systems in the Accounting department, including SAP and Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) software. This individual will interface with all levels of management and our foreign operations, as well as with the Company’s external auditors.

    Your tasks and responsibilities...

    • Be an integral part of preparing Forms 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K filings and Annual Report. • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and monthly reports for management. • Assist with the preparation of 5500 Benefit Plan filings (Contribution and Pension Plan). • Prepare audit requests for internal and external auditors. • Perform accounting research for issues as they arise to ensure compliance with US GAAP. • Perform monthly accounting duties for various holding companies.
    • Perform functions as a Finance system business process owner, analyst and administrator for SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (“BPC”) for the consolidation function including overrides, eliminations and roll-forwards.
    • Serve as the primary contact to OMNOVA’s global BPC user community for consolidations and provide assistance in consolidations and assessments as needed.
    • Participate in future development initiatives, assist in timely completion of current initiatives and drive continuous improvement of the BPC system and business processes relating to consolidations.
    • Participate in other projects as required (e.g., revenue recognition and lease guidance adoption).
    • Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re-engineering to reduce the timing to close the financial period.
    • Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team.

    Who you are...

    • Bachelors degree required in Accounting from an accredited institution
    • 5-7 years of experience in an external financial reporting role with a public company; strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP consolidations
    • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research skills, including a developing proficiency in GAAP and SEC standards.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
    • Ability to multi-task, think independently and problem solve in a results driven team oriented environment.
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
    • Strong computer and technical skills including, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, intranet and audit software.
    • Strong SAP knowledge and working knowledge of Business Planning & Consolidation (“BPC’) management, work process flows, and system components, including properties, logic and report writing are a plus.
