What are we looking for?

The Global IT Applications manager is responsible for managing the evaluation, testing, and release of all IT applications to enhance operational excellence and performance. The position combines managerial responsibilities with in-depth hands-on technical expertise.

Your tasks and responsibilities...

  • Serves as a member of the Global IT Leadership team. Responsible for assessing user needs to provide support and proactive service, including analysis of opportunities in order to take advantage of existing tools 
  • Acts as a focal point for communicating related system problems within the business and collaborates with the IT Leadership Team on changes, fixes, and updates 
  • Manages the release process for applications which includes effective department wide and end user communication 
  • Manages testing scripts and identifies opportunities for improvement 
  • Negotiates resolution of conflicting requirements across the regions, sites, and/or departments 
  • Sets and measures performance objectives and provides regular one-on-one feedback to all members of the team
  • Manages delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, corrective actions, maintenance, and enhancements raised by the end users for assigned applications 
  • Develops relevant global metrics, measures and publishes the performance of the services provided and enables continuous improvement activities
  • Works closely with all other IT leaders and team members in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing specific information technologies that support the business plans and IT strategies 
  • Assists with the preparation of budget for IT systems and services related interfaces and application integration 
  • Keeps abreast of new industry developments and forecasts future trends in the area of application integration
  • Maintains a strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve global business objectives
  • Prepares analysis and or proposals for other enterprise applications when necessary
  • Serves as an internal consultant to other IT management staff and operations community as needed 
  • Collaborates with other managers and leads to develop an effective on-call rotation schedule across various teams for 24/7 support 

Who you are...

  • Bachelor's degree required in IT, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or related field
  • Eight or more years of professional experience in Enterprise applications Management & Leadership
  • Three years of experience in planning and managing IT programs including budgeting, resource management, and delivery development 
  • Strong knowledge and experience with application testing, support, and enhancements 
  • Knowledge and understanding of goals and the interdependencies of functional departments and the ability to lead large-scale complex, global IT projects to address overall business needs 
  • Knowledge and ability to direct a staff in integrating information technology services with the work requirements and deliverables of the business
  • Knowledge of informational technology disciplines; e.g., software applications and interfaces, production operations, quality assurance and systems management, etc. 
  • Experience with effective project management tools and methodology
  • Excellent written, oral, instructional, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly self-motivated, directed, and change oriented
  • Ability to handle confrontation with appropriate grace, professionalism, cordiality, and firmness, and manage/resolve disputes appropriately 
  • Ability to communicate concepts in a concise, clear form to management and to cross-functional departments or teams verbally, in writing, and through pictures or diagrams when appropriate 
  • Knowledge of new technologies to maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Previous managerial experience in a Manufacturing/Chemicals organization

 

Working requirements

  • Full time, Monday through Friday with accessibility to provide emergency support during off-hours as needed. Must be able to travel 10-20% of the time domestically or internationally as requested.
